About the hosts
Two therapists, two distinct lenses and absolutely zero interest in polite small talk. We’re here for the uncomfortable matters that people usually sweep under the carpet. Here's a little more about who we are and why we're making this podcast.
The Bhav & Issy Show was born from the kind of deep, unfiltered conversations that happen when two therapists drop the professional poise, ignore the clock, and let the tea go cold.
We're both hypnotherapists, with Bhav also bringing a psychotherapeutic lens and Issy training as a holistic therapist. Together, we blend psychology, hypnotherapy, holistic thinking, cultural inheritance and a healthy wonderment about why humans do the things they do.
We won't be handing out toxic-positivity plasters, pretending everything happens for a reason, or telling you to simply raise your vibration and think happy thoughts. We'll take the existential dread seriously. Ourselves? Not even slightly. Expect honest conversations, psychological rabbit holes, uncomfortable truths, inappropriate laughter and the occasional moment where one of us has to ask: “Are we really discussing this on a public podcast?”
Got an unspoken story, a taboo topic, a question you've never quite known how to ask, or a conversation you've been actively avoiding?
Drop us a line.
We'd love to be nosey about it with you.
Full time therapist, part time chaos consultant
I’m here for the messy bits of being human. Grief, identity, endings, becoming, and the things we’d rather avoid saying out loud.
My work as a therapist, alongside my own journey, has taught me that understanding ourselves is only half the story. The rest is learning how to actually live with what we find.
I bring curiosity, honesty and a fascination with what sits beneath the surface, with the belief that even the deepest conversations can leave room for a good laugh.
Excavating meaning in mess
I’m here for the heavy, chaotic, and aggressively unspoken. My path to working with the mind-body-soul connection started long before private practice. From managing primary school classrooms (which is basically extreme nervous system triage) to supporting the most marginalised teenagers in the criminal justice system. Those frontlines taught me that every defence mechanism, rebellion, or quiet withdrawal is simply a human being doing their absolute best to feel safe.
I run on trauma informed curiosity, dark humour, and an endless fascination with the subconscious & unconscious mind. For me, therapy and this podcast, isn't about pathologising your life or offering neat, toxic positivity cover ups. It’s about making room to laugh through the chaos, drop the performance, face the raw bits without feeling like you have to fix them immediately and finally unpack the weird little truths that have been hiding in our emotional junk drawers.
